Power supply for 120 years

Repower AG with headquarters in Poschiavo (Grisons, Switzerland) has been an electricity producer, distribution grid operator and energy dealer for 120 years and is the largest energy supplier in the canton of Grisons. Repower owns and operates several hydropower plants, a number of photovoltaic systems and a distribution grid for electricity.

In addition to its headquarters in Poschiavo, the company also has subsidiaries in Bever, Ilanz, Kublis, Landquart, Zurich and Milan so that it can provide customers with the best possible service in the two key markets of Switzerland and Italy. Repower is a well-known supplier of electricity and gas to companies in Italy and owns several wind and solar parks, a number of hydroelectric power plants and a gas fired combined cycle power plant, which is mainly used to stabilise the electricity grid in southern Italy. Maintaining and expanding renewable energies is an integral part of the strategy of Repower. The same applies to the sustainable development of the company in terms of economics, society and the environment.

More enjoyment, less waste

“We want to give our employees high-quality coffee and create as little waste as possible. We used to use machines with a capsule system. Then we decided to switch to fully automatic coffee machines and brew our coffee specialities from freshly ground beans. This not only prevents waste, but also results in even better coffee quality”, says Theo Schläpfer, Deputy Team Leader for House Services at Repower, as he explains how the new purchase came about. “We decided on Schaerer because we were impressed by the quality and because we can identify best with the brand and the products”.

Espresso specialties are very popular

A total of 19 Schaerer Coffee Club and Coffee Skye machines were purchased for the new company locations in Grisons and configured in self-service mode. Since espresso specialities are especially popular in the company, all machines were equipped with two grinders. This means that the grinding level, brewing temperature and other parameters can be perfectly adjusted to bring out the flavours of the espresso and café crème beans used to make the coffee. In addition to the classic espresso, employees can also choose a very strong ristretto as well as a normal or large cup of café crème. The first contact with Schaerer was made in 2023. “To this day, we appreciate how quick and uncomplicated it is to handle any matter with Schaerer”, emphasises Schläpfer.
